Pumpkin Granola Bars Recipe

This is the time of year that most everyone enjoys pumpkin flavored items.  Pumpkin pie and pumpkin lattes seem to be everywhere. So recently, Zach and I decided to make a homemade snack with a bit of pumpkin that is sweet enough to satisfy my cravings instead of diving face first into the plethora of cookies and sweet treats that adorn the holidays.

Have you tried kañiwa yet?  I know what some of you are probably thinking, and no, I do not mean quinoa. Kañiwa is actually a small cousin to quinoa!  The Whole Grains Council states that kañiwa boasts nutritional benefits such as being high in dietary fiber and antioxidants, and according to nuts.com, kañiwa is also a complete protein that contains all 9 essential amino acids.

Let's be honest.  Most mornings during the week I am not bright eyed and bushy tailed.  I am more along the lines of groggy and cranky.  That's why I was elated when I learned how to make overnight raw oats for breakfast.  Now, every Sunday, I prepare 6 mason jars to use throughout the week between Zach and me for our busier mornings.  You can search raw oats recipes via the internet and everyone's version will have a little twist here and there, but the principles are all the same.

Zach's Guidelines for Home Cooking

Finding recipes and food ideas has become almost too easy as of recent. Long gone are the days when your Auntie cryptically guards the recipe for her ridiculously tasty meatballs, and while you may never actually get that recipe, you can easily plop your cravings into a search engine and BING (Nobody uses Bing but you get my point) you now have a million versions of specialty meatball recipes!  So now you have this awesome recipe and you set out on a journey through creation.
